Repronex Description
Repronex is an injection
The active ingredient in Repronex is called Menotropin. Menotropins are a mixture of naturally occurring hormones that include follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). This medication is part of the Gonadotropins class of medications. The purpose of Repronex (Menotropins) is to help the body stimulate the ovaries so the ovaries produce eggs.
Repronex - What's Included
Repronex (Menogon) is supplied in boxes of 10 X 75iu vials and 10 glass ampoules of saline dilutant.
The Difference Between US and European Repronex
Repronex (Menogon) on IVFPharmacy is made by Ferring Pharmaceuticals. It is a brand medication, not generic. The drug composition is exactly the same as Repronex in the US but the packaging may vary slightly. Here's how:
US packaging:
Repronex is available in various quantities, for example, it can be purchased in packages of 4, 12, 30 or 36 vials. Q caps are not included.
European packaging:
In some countries Repronex is called Menogon, even though it is the same drug made by the same manufacturer. Repronex is packaged in boxes of 10. Q caps are not included.
Repronex Uses and Side Effects
Repronex Uses & Indications:
This medication is used to treat certain fertility problems in women. It provides follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) that help stimulate healthy ovaries to make eggs. This medication is usually used in combination with another hormone (human chorionic gonadotropin-hCG) to help you become pregnant by bringing about the growth and release of a mature egg (ovulation). Repronex is not recommended for women whose ovaries no longer make eggs properly (primary ovarian failure).
Repronex Side Effects:
Common Repronex side effects include: Headache, mild stomach pain/bloating, redness/pain at the injection site, breast tenderness, or dizziness.
Serious Repronex side effects that require medical attention include: Vaginal bleeding or flu-like symptoms including fever, chills, joint pain, muscle ache, tiredness. Urgent physician care is needed if you feel weakness on one side of the body, slurred speech, sudden vision changes or severe headache, pain/swelling of the calf muscles, chest pain, shortness of breath or signs of OHSS symptoms (Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome).
